What makes Nilotica Shea so special?

Ugandan communities have understood the benefits of Nilotica Shea Butter and Oil and have been using it extensively for centuries. Only recently has the international community started recognizing Nilotica Shea for its deeply moisturizing and natural antioxidant properties.

Wild-harvested Nilotica Shea is extracted from naturally-occurring Vitellaria Nilotica trees in Uganda. These trees only start bearing fruit at 20 years of age and continue to do so annually throughout their entire lifespan.

What are the benefits of Nilotica Shea?

A natural antioxidant, Nilotica Shea Butter is renowned as one of the finest natural skin moisturizers. Nilotica Shea Butter is rich in essential Vitamins A, E, and F. These vitamins play a critical role in keeping skin and hair healthy. Read more about the extensive benefits of Nilotica Shea here.

How is unrefined Shea Butter different from refined Shea Butter?

When Nilotica Shea Butter is refined, that means it has been through one or more chemical processes.  This is often done to achieve shelf stability or a certain consistency, but it usually means the processing makes its rich nutrients less potent. Unrefined Nilotica Shea Butter means it hasn’t undergone these harsh processing techniques and retains its’ natural healing properties.

How does Nilotica Shea Butter “heal” my skin?

Nilotica Shea Butter has a very high “healing fraction”, up to 12% of the butter’s make-up (more than any other type of seed oil). These amazing healing properties have shown great success in treating various skin problems such as wrinkles, blemishes, skin allergies, eczema, and other skin conditions. Shea Butter can be used when treating minor cuts, scrapes, and soothing sunburns. Shea butter also has the ability to reduce inflammation, which makes Shea butter the premiere product to speed the healing of skin that has undergone cosmetic surgery or tattooing.

How should I store Nilotica Shea Products?

A good quality, fresh, pure and unrefined Nilotica Shea Butter and oil can be preserved for an average duration of 1.5 years to 2 years. Beyond this duration, we consider that the active properties of the products are lost. Our Nilotica Shea products can be preserved for several months without requiring the use of refrigeration.  However, it should be noted that once water-based products are added into the products the shelf life can be reduced. Always consult with your team of product specialists to determine the safe shelf-life of any formulations in your products accurately.

How can you tell if Nilotica Shea Butter is good quality?

You’ll be able to tell the quality of the Nilotica Shea Butter and Oil from the light and pleasant “nutty” smell, its light yellow color, and texture that melts swiftly upon application to the skin. Shop our superior Nilotica Shea products here.

Where should I store Nilotica Shea products?
Place your Nilotica Shea products in a cool, dry place, and away from sunlight if possible to maximize its shelf life.
